Ontario - Inland Empire Shopping
East of L.A., California’s Inland Empire yields a plentiful harvest of shopping options from malls, outlet centers, and specialty shops to historic districts and open-air markets filled with tantalizing area produce. Pomona’s Second Street is embellished by the Arts Colony on the west and Antique Row to the east, and Redlands also has an Antique Row. Riverside features a downtown Pedestrian Mall. Certified Farmer’s Market draws crowds to Temecula’s Promenade Mall, and Old Town Temecula has an open air market on Saturday mornings. Near Victor Valley College, Victor Valley Market operates on Bear Valley Road. Downtown Redlands’ market place features fresh produce, crafts, and entertainment. San Bernardino’s Carousel Center Mall, anchored by Bon Ton, Lord & Taylor, Kaufmann’s, and JCPenney, has more than 90 stores. Galleria at Tyler, anchored by Macy’s, JCPenney, Robinson-May, and Nordstrom, features more than 170 stores.
San Bernardino’s Inland Center Mall, with Macy’s, Sears, and Harris-Gottschalks, has more than 90 stores from the Disney Store and Dell to Frederick’s of Hollywood. Victorville’s Mall of Victor Valley, has more than 100 stores, including Mervyn’s, JCPenney, Sears, and Gottschalks. Montclair Plaza’s 200 stores include Macy’s, Nordstrom, Robinson-May, JCPenney, and Sears. On Temecula’s Winchester Road, The Promenade’s 120 stores include Macy’s, Robinsons-May, JCPenney and Sears. The neighborhood Redlands Mall features Gottschalks, Save-on, Ozel Jewelers and 20 other specialty shops. Riverside Plaza has 90 stores including Save-on, Harris-Gottschalks, and Trader Joe’s.
Victoria Gardens Regional Mall, has more than 100 stores including Macy’s, JCPenney and Robinson-May. Outlet centers include the Jessica McClintock Company Store for bridal needs and prom gowns in Montclair; Barstow’s Factory Merchants with more than 85 stores including Billabong, Big Dog Sportswear, Fanzz, and XOXO; and Lake Elsinore Outlets with more than 75 stores. Ontario Mills’ 200 stores include Abercrombie & Fitch, Gymboree, and Hollister Co., plus attractions, theater, and fine dining. Barstow’s Tanger Factory Outlet Center, with more than 30 stores, also hosts a California Welcome Center. North of Barstow, Calico Ghost Town provides for Old West shopping flavor, with cowboys, piano players, shoot-outs, and stores stocking leather goods, crafts, and more.
